We’ve seen hundreds of algae infested pools. In our experience we see improper chemical balance as the main culprit. Other common reasons for algae growth in swimming pools we encounter are lack of circulation caused by a dirty or bad filter cartridge coupled with not running the systems pool pump the correct amount of time (We recommend a minimum of eight hours a day, typically from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm).
